We’ve used Lucky to be at Home Pet Care for a couple of years now and we’ve never been happier with the care that Murphy and Athena have for our two mini schnauzers, but this takes the cake. Last week Hilda and I went to Waco for a symposium, as Harvey became stronger and high winds and rain were predicted, Athena took it upon herself to clear the back patio of all the loose items that might be blown around. I wouldn’t trust ANYONE but Murphy to watch my baby while I travel. Unlike past experiences when I worried constantly that my dog, Broozer, was being cared for properly. Murphy kept in constant contact, sending me updates, photos and texts to let me know he was happy and having lots of fun! This is the first time I’ve returned from a trip and not gotten the usual 45 minute silent treatment from Broozer. He adores his new dog sitter. I love that they have a buffet of prices to choose from and they’re all really reasonable. Best part is my new peace of mind. Thank you! You’re fantastic!

Zeb (the dog) looked really good when I returned home. I felt better knowing that someone was checking in on him and keeping him company throughout the day. I also liked the daily notes left at the home on Zeb’s daily routine.
Murphy has been watching our dogs for about a year now. Our dogs are thrilled each time she shows up. Murphy goes above and beyond to take are of our fur babies and we are so happy to have her love on them. They are in better condition when we arrive home than when we left them.
Lucky to be at Home always does a wonderful job taking care of our dog, Blue. We can always trust them to come in our home and love Blue as their own, and I know he loves them back. I work a crazy schedule, but I can always count on Murphy & Athena to be there in the clutch.
The only issue I have is that now my pets like Athena more than me. LOL.

We have never left our pets at home before, but we really needed a vacation and didn’t want to worry about them while we were gone. I was concerned at first about having strangers come in my home, but Murphy and her contractor came to meet our pets before we went out of town, which gave our labs time to get to know them first. After that, I was very comfortable leaving our pets in the care of Lucky to be at Home Pet Care. We will definitely use them again.
I can’t say enough about Lucky to be at Home Pet Care. Murphy and Athena are wonderful. They texted me every day and even sent me pictures. When we came home, they had left us a note for each visit they were here. We will absolutely ask them again to take care of our babies in the future!

It’s been a long time since we’ve taken a vacation, and I was anxious about leaving our two dogs and cat – we have a dog that’s extremely timid and untrusting of strangers. It didn’t take long before all three of them fell in love with Murphy & Athena. We’re thrilled with the services provided by Lucky to be at Home Pet Care; they kept us informed of each day’s activities and went the extra mile to provide additional services, i.e., collecting mail and watering plants. They’ve earned our complete confidence and trust and we highly recommend them! We won’t worry about our precious babies anymore! In fact, I think our babies are ready for us to leave again!
They (Murphy & Athena) were great! They sent me daily updates, so I always knew my cats were safe and well-fed. They were so patient and knew how to make my shy cat feel comfortable. She even came out to play a few times. When I got home, there were little notes from each visit. They really take the time to provide great, individualized care.

Murphy is fantastic! I was a new client desperately looking for help caring for my pets, when all other options fell through. Murphy made arrangement to meet with me a day before I was going out of town. We received text messages to let us know all was well during our trip. When we arrived home, we found all of our pets happy and healthy. Then, the evening we arrived home, I unexpectedly went into labor almost a month early. We asked Murphy if she could continue services while we were in the hospital. Murphy reassured us that she would continue to look after our pets. Just can’t put into words how appreciative we are to the stellar care Murphy and Michael provided to Oliver and Toby while we were on vacation the past 10 days. My worst fear came true when my 14 year old Whippet, Toby had a horrible seizure while we were far away in Hawaii. Murphy knew exactly the right thing to do. She kept calm and was able to administer life saving medicine we had on hand and save his life! She immediately called the emergency vet and myself, and followed the care directions perfectly. Her follow up care was so loving and thoughtful! She and Michael truly treated my babies as if they were their own! Toby recovered the next day, and we were able to continue our vacation knowing they were in the best care possible! I am forever grateful to Lucky to be at Home Pet Care and The Lord Jesus!
Very professional and obviously great with animals. Our rescue pup, Yogi, warmed-up to Murphy right away! It was great piece of mind knowing that he was having all his needs met and was still getting personal attention and love even when we were away!!
Many thanks are due to Murphy for the wonderful care she gave our elder fur faces. One of our cats has asthma that we’re struggling to control, and we were dealing with some flare ups in the weeks before our trip. I was extremely nervous and guilty about leaving her, even though she seemed much better. Part of our trip was on a cruise, which meant we would also be unreachable for a number of days, ramping up my anxiety. To add to that, I was facing needing an entirely new pet sitter, as our last one’s behavior was less than professional. Enter Murphy to save the day! The problem with almost every pet sitter I’ve ever used is that even though they clearly love animals, they forget that this is still a business. And as such, I encounter a lot of flakiness. Things are forgotten or not cared for appropriately, records aren’t kept, they have no contingency or emergency plans in place, prices change at the last minute, etc. It’s a little disconcerting to turn your precious animals, let alone the keys to your home over to such people. But Murphy not only was very patient and understanding when this nervous pet-mom flooded her with information about our feline’s condition, she came armed with careful procedures and an information gathering process that made sure she was prepared to handle any eventuality for you and your pets. I didn’t think anyone could out-do me with Type A planning, but she remembered things even I forgot to mention. And let’s face it…the fact that she was undaunted by having to give pills to a fussy senior cat is impressive! But I really knew she was the person for me when she teared up a little while I was detailing what we’d been through medically with our girl. And that’s ultimately what every pet parent wants in pet care — someone who will care for them as much as we will. Another thing I love is that Murphy offers to send updates on your trips — calls, texts, etc. She also left detailed notes for each day she visited that we enjoyed reading on our return. She also went out of her way to do little extras. For instance, without being asked, she took out our recycling. And because she did this, she found that a tap on the side of the house had been turned on by some unknown person. If she hadn’t found it, it would have run for a week straight, costing us who knows how much in water bills and potential damage. When we returned, we found our girls happy and healthy. She made this very nervous pet parent feel much better about leaving home now and again.
We are so impressed by our experience with Lucky to be at Home Pet Care, LLC. I never thought I would be comfortable with a stranger coming in to my home unsupervised for a week, much less tasked with taking care of and loving our dogs. Murphy completely obliterated that state of mind and there is no doubt you will be hearing from us the next time we need Taz and Hana looked after. I must say that your professional approach is a big part of what has impressed me. From the thorough interview, to the daily notes. From the follow up emails, to going above and beyond with caring for our home and garden. I could not imagine someone doing a finer job than you have done. It’s so nice in these days and times to be able to say nice things about a service oriented business. I want to encourage people to stop using dirty, loud, overpriced kennels when there truly is a trustworthy and affordable option. I wish you lots of success and hope that you continue what you are doing because you are really good at it!!!!
In one word – DEPENDABLE – you can sum up the experience of Murphy and Lucky to be at Home Pet Care, LLC. We have a 12 year old large German imported dog that needs “special“ attention, a hyper Jack Russell terrier, several cats, a wild Shetland pony, a pot bellied pig and our newest addition, a Dwarf Nigerian milk goat for our 6 month old baby boy. Each member of our little farm family has their own unique requirements and Murphy tends to them all. Most importantly, I am able to go out of town on business trips and never have to worry that the animals want for anything, food on time, water with ice cubes, plus she goes the extra mile with lots of love & attention. It is a great relief to finally find a person who is responsible as well as loving towards your animal children. Murphy was eager and receptive to milking our pet goat so that we would have fresh milk upon our return for our baby which keeps the milk goat on a schedule and is the key to allowing me to travel. The added value Murphy gives to your peace of mind is worth every penny.
I used Lucky to be at Home Pet Care, LLC over the Thanksgiving Holiday weekend. I was a little nervous because one of my dogs doesn’t always take well to new people. But I had nothing to worry about! Murphy totally won him, and all my other pets, over! They loved her! And I loved the detailed reports she gave me. I was so relieved knowing my pets were in good hands. I can’t recommend Lucky to be at Home Pet Care, LLC highly enough!
I was so nervous about leaving my dog Gunther at home alone all day, but Murphy made me feel so much better about it. She would leave notes every day and text me when she got to the house to let him out. She always commented on some silly thing Gunther did and noticed all the funny things he does. I know Gunther was so happy to see her every day and I feel like she treated him like she would her own dog. She really loves him; they hit it off at the first meeting. Unfortunately we are moving too far for Murphy to visit with Gunther anymore but I would definitely recommend her services.
I’m not accustomed to leaving my dog in the care of just anyone because Maggie is my beloved baby. I’ve known Murphy for over 15 years and have always known her to be dependable, trustworthy and a true animal lover. So, when the time came for me to travel out of town on a leisure trip, it was not a concern for me to trust that Lucky to be at Home Pet Care would be the source for taking superior care of Maggie. Murphy met with me to get a better understanding of what I needed and wanted for Maggie in order to best make Maggie feel comfortable. Murphy still checks in with me from time-to-time just to make sure Maggie is doing fine. I have and will continue to recommend Lucky to be at Home Pet Care to anyone and everyone who needs excellent pet service.

We recently had our first experience with Lucky to be at Home Pet Care but it definitely won’t be the last! Murphy not only did all the things that we agreed upon, but went out of her way to ‘go the extra mile.’ After her last visit each day we were given a report, and we knew she had Rusty wrapped about her finger (or was it the other way around?) when after the first day she said, Rusty likes to have his belly rubbed! Her love of animals is so obvious and it didn’t take her long to discover his likes and dislikes. I think Rusty wants us to go on another trip just so Murphy can come play again!
Our cats were lucky to be at home. We used another pet sitter in the past that ripped us off. Murphy followed all of our instructions. Lucky to be at Home Pet Care, LLC is professional and dependable. We were able to enjoy our family vacation knowing our cats were well cared for and Lucky to be at Home Pet Care.
Murphy did a wonderful watching my house and kitties while I was away. She made me feel very comfortable while I was away. During her visit with the cats she corresponded with me via text messaging and gave me an update about how everything was going. Murphy will also do miscellaneous tasks around the house such as take out the garbage or pick up your mail. It was so nice returning home and finding the newspapers on the table and brief note left by Murphy about her visit. Additionally, Murphy followed up with me to make sure I made it home safely. I am a female that travels frequently and most of the time alone. So this follow-up call by Murphy made me feel even more comfortable with her services and care!
